More AI Editing Assistance is on the Way as Eddie AI V4 is Unveiled Ahead of IBC 2026
Eddie V4 has been released, promising even more features for the AI assistant editor, including some powered-up upgrades.

Eddie AI V4
IBC 2026 is already off to a hot start before the hall doors at the RAI Amsterdam open in the Netherlands later this week. We’ve gotten big announcements from a ton of major brands so far, and it looks like it will be a packed house with companies big and small, plus thousands of filmmakers and videographers, in attendance.
If you’re interested in video editing, and specifically AI-assisted video editing, it looks like we’ll be getting another major update from the team at Eddie AI, as the company has announced that its V4 version will be ready to check out for those there in person.
Here’s the latest.
Eddie AI V4 Update
Promising to be yet another update for the AI assistant editor that seems to get a boost every few months at this point, Eddie AI is getting some more new features and power-ups to make it more than just a single-use AI assistant.
And, in truth, this does appear to be the way of the future, as Blackmagic Design has just announced that DaVinci Resolve is getting new AI assistant integration, and Adobe has announced that its AI assistants are now set to be available in After Effects public beta.
The latest from Eddie AI follows suit as the company has announced that the tool is moving far beyond simply trimming a timeline; it’s now watching rushes, finding the story, syncing cameras, naming who is on which angle, writing the music, sourcing the b-roll, and handing the finished cut to Premiere, Resolve, Avid, or Final Cut as a real project file.
More Updates on the Way?

It’s hard to say if and when any of these players in this space, like Eddie AI, might slow down as the industry heats up and gains speed. If this is a space you’re at all interested in, it might be in your best interest to check it out sooner rather than later if you want to keep up.
At this point, Eddie AI offers integrations with ChatGPT and Claude, an iPhone app, web and desktop, a new no-subscription model, direct export to the top NLEs, IT department compliance, its own editing model, cloud-synced projects, multi-cam and podcasts, and new music, VO, titles, captions, and graphics, plus the new ability to train it to learn how you work.
It’s a lot, and it doesn’t look like anything in this industry is slowing down anytime soon.
If you’d like to learn more, you can check the company out at Booth 7.A38, Hall 7, or see the company’s CEO talk at the Future Tech Stage for a "This AI Editor Has Joined Your Team's Adobe / Blackmagic Cloud Edit" talk on Saturday 12 September at 14:15.
