Unlock the full powers of the Fujifilm GFX100II with its latest firmware update, which adds compatibility with this Fujinon GF 32-90mm power zoom lens.

Fujifilm GFX100 II
Tim “the Toolman” Taylor, eat your heart out! Fujifilm has released a new firmware update for its popular medium-format GFX100 II mirrorless camera, set to add more power. Like, a lot more power as this latest update (firmware version 2.50) is set to add compatibility with the Fujinon GF T3.5 PZ OIS WR—a beefy power zoom lens in its own right.
Overall, this update should turn the GFX100 II into a pretty powerful, cinema-capable camera and lens combo that could be used to tackle the heaviest of projects. Let’s take a look at this update and explore what it could power up for your productions.
Fujifilm GFX100 II Firmware Update
Announced as a simple new firmware update for the GFX100 II, the big news of this version 2.50 update is the aforementioned compatibility with the company’s new power zoom lens.
Since this is a cine-style form lens which features several functions handy for single-operator capture, like optical image stabilization, autofocus, auto iris, and servo and manual zoom, the update will add an option for camera users to select the aperture display unit as either “T-value” or F-value” moving forward.
Here’s the full breakdown of what this latest firmware will be adding:
- This camera is also compatible with our power zoom lens, “FUJINON LENS GF32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR”. Therefore, after the firmware update, you can configure and operate specific functions of this lens as follows.
- [Available settings & operations]
- An option to select the aperture value display unit as either “T-value” or “F-value” is added to the “Display Settings” in the Setup Menu.
- It becomes selectable whether to operate the zoom of the GF32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR using the zoom ring or the zoom lever by switching the zoom mode switch on the lens.
Once up and running, the FUJIFILM GF 32-90mm T3.5 PZ OIS WR Lens, which is designed for large-format sensors, will be able to provide a 35mm equivalent of 25-71mm and should bring a handful of useful cine-style, run-and-gun filmmaking features like 0.8 MOD gearing for compatibility with lens control systems with selectable run-and-gun functions like OIS (optical image stabilization), autofocus, auto iris, and servo and manual zoom control.
