With a solid reputation already within the greater filmmaking and professional cinematography industry, Atlas Lens Co.’s Mercury T2.2 1.5x Anamorphic Prime Lens line offers native full-frame coverage, beautiful bokeh, and near-zero chromatic aberration.

Compact and lightweight, the Mercury Series from Atlas Lens Co. offers DPs the ability to find some buttery vintage looks that are warmer than the Orion series. Yet, despite its popularity already, there’s always room for expansion.

That’s why Atlas Lens Co. is, most likely, very proud to announce that the Mercury Series is about to get three new, wider focal lengths. Let’s look at the new lenses coming to this anamorphic prime lens series.

New Mercury T2.2 1.5x Anamorphic Prime Lenses

Designed by cinematographers for professional videographers who look to capture that vintage anamorphic look with their compositions, these new lenses for the New Mercury T2.2 1.5x Anamorphic Prime Lens series will include a 24mm option, a 27mm option, and a 32mm option.

These new, wider options will add to a full array of focal lengths that already include options for 36mm, 42mm, 54mm, 72mm, 95mm, and 138mm. Atlas Lens Co. also shares that a 54mm, a 95mm, and an unnamed telephoto focal length lens are also in the pipeline to be announced here soon as well.

Looking at the Mercury T2.2 1.5x Anamorphic Prime Lens series itself, it’s a great option for those looking for native full-frame coverage, enhanced bokeh, near-zero chromatic aberration, and a buttery, vintage, and warm look.

A 1.5x Vintage Anamorphic Look

Each Mercury lens should be able to provide the oval bokeh, pleasant barrel distortion, and shallow depth of field of the Atlas Orion 2x anamorphic primes, but in a housing that is about half the size and weight of most pro anamorphic primes. These more compact sizes will also help to reduce fatigue and enable shooters to get closer to the action than ever before.

These new lenses will be able to create 1.5x the horizontal field with the same vertical field of view as a similar spherical lens, and will offer the same vintage anamorphic look with golden flares, pleasant barrel distortion, and almost no chromatic aberration.

These new, wider lens options will be compatible with pro-cine ARRI PL-mount cameras. Plus, each Mercury series lens will provide coverage for up to full-frame camera sensors as well as provide excellent low-light capture thanks to their fast T2.2 aperture.
