If something’s not broken—don’t fix it. Pelican has a new ecosystem of all-terrain transport crates that doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but does improve on what the company has been producing well for years.
Pelican recently released the new CR45 CRATE, designed to provide everything a film, video, or other crew might need to load, secure, and deploy equipment in the most extreme settings and environments.

The Pelican CR45 CRATE
Looking specifically at the CR45 CRATE from Pelican, which is the 45L size version (there’s also a 90L version plus a ton of accessories), we have a rugged and configurable crate option that features all of the usual engineering from the Pelican crew for protection and compatibility with the ModRail system of tie-downs, mounts, and accessories to adapt the case for any mission.
This crate has a multi-position lid that opens from either side or can be removed completely for quick access in tight or remote spaces. The whole package is built from the company’s proprietary HPXC polymer and is IP67 rated for dust, crush, and waterproof performance.
There also appears to be a nice mix of push-button latches, which should further help to keep the case securely closed and are easy to open with or without gloves. The hasps are also set to accept user-supplied padlocks for added security, and the automatic pressure equalization valve should help ensure the case remains easy to open, even after turbulent air travel.
Price and Availability
