The Filmarket Hub platform and Catalonia’s Sitges Festival are co-organizing the Sitges Pitchbox, which is an international pitching event that is focused on genre feature films and TV series that are currently in development.

The showrunners who are invited to the program will offer one-to-one advice to the five projects. They will also carry out a masterclass to help hone the projects.

The two mentors announced are Nick Antosca from the U.S. and Teresa Fernández-Valdés from Spain. Antosca is a screenwriter and producer. His credits include HBO’s Channel Zero, Hannibal, and Believe

Fernández-Valdés is co-founder of Spanish production company Bambú Produccionesone with Ramón Campos. They've produced Velvet, Cocaine Coast, and Cable Girls

These are heavy hitters who are there to guide writers through the process.

So who gets to apply?

Five European series and five feature films from around the world will be selected to participate in the program. Those responsible for the selected projects will have the opportunity to make a sales pitch and meet with each of the participating companies.

The deadline to apply is Sept. 2, 2021.
