With the fun tagline promising to “Transform Your Shoot,” (that’s awesome, right?) SmallRig appears to have partnered with Hasbro to release this Megatron Edition of a helpful smartphone videography kit solution.

The SmallRig Megatron Edition Mobile Dual Handheld Kit for iPhone 17 Pro Max 5584 is a professional dual handheld shooting rig designed specifically for iPhone 17 Pro Max that aims to help

facilitate professional-level video recording, live streaming, and short film production.

The kit is quite comprehensive as it includes a phone case, video cage, rotatable wireless control side handle, rotatable side handle, TPU soft bumper, and 2 pieces of backplane for the external lens.

Along with the Autobot-approved protection that it offers, this kit will also come standard with a T-mount backplate and a 17mm threaded lens backplate for external lens mounting. (SmallRig notes that the T-mount backplate can be replaced with a 67mm magnetic filter adapter (sold separately) for enhanced optical output, too.)

Transform Your Shoot

As the tagline might suggest, users can further transform their shoots by mounting their phones into the cage with their case on. The cage itself features multiple 1/4"-20 anti-twist threaded holes and cold shoe mounts to expand with accessories like handles, tripods, microphones, and lights.

There are also side-mounted strap holes, which will be compatible with professional wrist and shoulder straps under 2mm in diameter to further help shooters keep their hands free between shots. The design is hollowed out too, which helps it maintain access to all iPhone buttons, ports, radar system, ultra-wide lens, and wireless charging.

Furthermore, the handles can also attach to the cage via HawkLock H11 quick-release mechanism for more one-second assembly/disassembly usability.
