Tilta has announced that it has some upcoming price adjustments for select products, which the company cites as due to “sustained increases in raw material, production, and international logistics costs,” so not AI, but likely part of the ongoing tariffs being implemented across various markets and regions.
The list of affected products is quite extensive, but it mostly focuses on the Nucleus Auto Focus Series, Boulder Cart, and the Hydra Alien Mini lines. Here’s what we know so far about these price increases, why they’re happening, and what filmmakers and crews should expect before they go into effect starting on September 1st, 2026.
Tilta Price Increases
Not the only brand to issue price adjustments over the past few years, Tilta’s price increases appear to be tied to raw materials and supply lines, not increased demand for memory due to AI, which is a familiar refrain at this point.
We’ve seen tariffs and supply-line price increases from several brands, and it doesn’t seem like anything is going to let up anytime soon, so more may be on the way. Still, it’s never fun to see prices go up, particularly for products that appear to be quite popular and from brands that appear to be doing quite well.
