GL Optics Announces Rehoused Zeiss Otus Set and More
GL Optics is known for bringing some of the best (and fastest) still lenses into full cinematic fruition. Now, Zeiss Otus primes have received the GL Optics treatment.
In April at NAB, GL Optics announced its 50-100mm 1.8 Sigma lens and previously made a splash in the budget market with the popular 18-35mm 1.8 Sigma rehoused. Check out the specs on the company's latest offerings:
Base Lens: Zeiss Otus
- Super speed set 28mm T1.4, 55mm T1.4, 85mm T1.4 (Two more focal lengths soon to come)
- 300 degree focus rotation
- stainless steel PL mount
- All lenses cover 8K sensor
- 114mm diameter of front Lens ring
- Interchangeable PL/EF mount
- 6063 aluminum rehoused Lens body

- Priced around $8,000 (price not set yet).
- 85mm and 55mm are ready; 28mm expected in a month or so
In addition to the Zeiss Otus set, the company is releasing additions to their existing rehoused Leica R line: a 15mm f3.5 ($6,800) and a 100mm Leica R Macro ($6,500).
