Adobe Launches Full Beta of Its Firefly Video Editor With Even More AI Capabilities
Adobe Firefly Video Editor is now live as a full beta with some new partner models in tow.

Adobe Firefly Video Editor Beta
Announced just over a month ago, Adobe’s Firefly video editor is now ready to release as a full beta option available for current Adobe subscribers to try out and get acquainted with what appears to be the company’s future bet on AI-minded video editing workflows.
Uniquely positioned to allow filmmakers, editors, AI creators, or whoever to create content by using different generative AI models, the platform is offering unlimited generations for a short period so that people can try it out.
Adobe is also adding some new tools and capabilities to Firefly in general, which are worth exploring as well.
Adobe Firefly Video Editor Beta Release
The most notable news here is that Firefly video editor, Adobe’s browser-based video editor that promises to turn Firefly generations into finished stories, is now broadly available in public beta. While quite distinctly different from Premiere (or Premiere Mobile), the Firefly video editor will allow users to work in the following styles:
- Edit by timeline when you want precise control over pacing, cuts, and layers.
- Edit by text when you’re working with talking-head or interview content — trim or rearrange segments just by editing the text in the transcript.
Users can then export their videos in formats that they might need for their content, including options for vertical social posts to widescreen edits.

More Camera Controls and Models
The other big news here is that Adobe is rolling out a new Prompt to Edit feature and other additional camera motion controls for the AI generations.
The Prompt to Edit will make use of Runway’s Aleph mod,el which allows for specific edit instructions. Users will also be able to provide more control for how the camera moves through their scenes with new camera motion control options as well.
Adobe has also announced a new partnership with Topaz Astra, which will be available in Firefly Boards, to let users push their footage to 1080p or 4K. This aims to be a nice boost for low-resolution clips as a way to make them sharp enough for YouTube feeds or other places.

Unlimited Generations Until Jan. 15th
To coincide with this new push for Firefly and the Firefly video editor in particular, Adobe is extending its offering for customers on Firefly Pro, Firefly Premium, 7,000-credit, and 50,000-credit plans to get unlimited image and video generations in the Adobe Firefly app now through January 15th, 2026.
