Well, this is a nice surprise!

Blackmagic Design has announced that new, lower prices are on the way. The company has shared what prices are being reduced for what products just yet, but the company has put out messaging on its social media channels announcing that “due to US tariff changes,” it will reduce the price of some of its products.

This is exciting news, as the predominant trend over the past year or so has been for prices to rise, not lower, in most instances. So to see some price reductions come in, ideally for some of Blackmagic Design’s flagship cameras, is always welcomed for filmmakers and video professionals.

Blackmagic Design Lowers Prices

So, all we know so far is that Blackmagic Design has issued a statement saying that “due to US tariff changes, we have been able to reduce the price of some of our products.” The social media posts to the BMD channels direct customers to check out the company’s website for the latest prices.

And looking at the Blackmagic website, it does look like some cameras, like different versions of the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera, have seen their prices reduced by up to a couple of hundred dollars.

It doesn’t look like these reductions have made it over to resellers like B&H just yet, but if they’re going through, they’ll likely be there soon. Which, again, is great news for those looking for more affordable camera options and a more competitive camera market overall.
