Blackmagic Design Announces Lower Prices for Two of Its Popular Full-Frame 6K Cameras
Blackmagic Design has announced it is lowering prices on the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K models and the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K by $1,000.

After a pretty up-and-down ride for those following along at home, Blackmagic Design has announced another price change. Luckily, this one is a price drop, which should be good news to just about everyone in the film and video world looking for more affordable cinema camera options.
With these new lower prices for the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K and the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K, the barrier to entry for getting your hands on a full-frame 6K cinema camera is now down to just $1595 with the BCC6K.
Blackmagic Design Lowers Prices
Announced on the company’s social channels early this morning, these price reductions should take effect soon, as the company said it is lowering prices on some of its most popular full-frame 6K cameras by $1,000.
The models getting this price drop are the different versions of the Blackmagic PYXIS 6K (L, EF, PL), as well as the Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K. These are all full-frame, 6K-capable cinema cameras and should appeal to those looking to invest in a Blackmagic cinema camera for the first time.
- Blackmagic PYXIS 6K L: price lowered from $3,080 to $1,995
- Blackmagic PYXIS 6K EF: price lowered from $3,070 to $1,995
- Blackmagic PYXIS 6K PL: price lowered from $3,265 to $2,195
- Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K: price lowered from $2,715 to $1,595
The Blackmagic Cinema Camera 6K stands out because it was already a pretty affordable option, and this price drop makes it one of the most affordable cinema cameras on the market.

Price and Availability
Those are the prices above, and they should all be updated across different outlets here soon. As for what’s going on here, it’s hard to say, as this goes against many trends we’ve seen lately. Granted, a lot of the price hikes we’ve seen in other sectors of film and video production have been related to AI pushing up flash storage costs.
However, tariffs and global markets have driven prices up in many scenarios, including with Blackmagic Design, over the past few years. Still, whatever the reason is, this price drop is nice to see and could be a good time to strike for any interested filmmakers.
