It sure sounds like a trend is forming here, as another major camera and lens manufacturer has apologized for shipping delays affecting some of their flagship products. From Sigma lenses to other cameras in the past, shipping delays are nothing new per se, but they are happening a bit more frequently.

There are some likely reasons why, we’d guess, but regardless of what tariffs or other factors are at play, these delays don’t sound too bad as of now—but certainly are worth monitoring.

Canon has issued a formal apology for the delays the company is experiencing. The delays are mostly centered around the new Canon EOS R6 Mark III with different kit lenses and the RF 45mm f/1.2 STM lens. Here’s what you need to know.

Canon Shipping Delays

Issued on November 11, 2025, on the company’s website, Canon reports that the company is experiencing delays in delivery for a few products due to the large number of orders that it has received. Here’s the complete statement (translated from Japanese) to its customers:

Thank you for your continued patronage of Canon products. We are currently experiencing delays in delivery for the following products due to the large number of orders we have received. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause to our customers and business partners. We will continue to take measures to ensure a stable product supply so that we can deliver products as soon as possible. We appreciate your understanding.

It doesn’t appear that Canon indicates just how long any of these delays may take or anything, but if you do happen to be someone who’s recently purchased a Canon product, there might be a delay now or in the future.

Canon Products Affected

Along with the apology above, Canon also released a short list of all of the products currently experiencing delays. Here’s the full list provided by Canon:

  • EOS R6 Mark III with RF24-105 L IS USM Lens Kit
  • EOS R6 Mark III with RF24-105 IS STM Lens Kit
  • RF45mm F1.2 STM
  • Lens Hood ES-73B
  • Speedlite EL-1 (Ver.2)

For each product, Canon reports that the company plans to ship the products in order, but delivery for each may take longer than usual. If anything, though, besides some possible delays, it is a good sign for Canon and for the new R6 Mark III in particular, proving that it could be a popular camera option that is worth checking out despite its increased demand.
