While it might not be for everyone, PTZ (pan, tilt, and zoom) cameras serve many purposes not just in the film, video, and content world, but also in the broader camera world. Given the security and surveillance, as well as webcam applications, PTZ cameras aren’t usually considered serious cinema options.
And, to be fair, it’d be hard to say that even with a really good one, you would want to consider it unless you need it for specific things. The Astra Pa is equipped with a built-in 1/1.8" high-quality 8.42MP CMOS sensor and is wired for HDMI and 3G-SDI connectivity. The PTZ camera option should offer strong compatibility and be tailored specifically for live event-style coverage, such as presentations or house of worship events.
The camera is quite capable, with 30x optical zoom and 16x digital zoom; it also supports AI auto-tracking, intelligent face detection AE, and NDI HX3, and can capture up to UHD 4K at 60 fps.

As mentioned above, this isn’t a camera option that’s for all filmmakers and videographers. In fact, it’s still really only for a certain set of crews or teams looking for event coverage or other niche needs.
Still, with that said, it’s nice to see Hollyland expand into a new market and for this market to get some new innovation and more products.
