New Silicon Valley Drone Company Sets Target on Besting DJI’s Aerial Dominance
A new drone company has emerged to challenge DJI with drones that can reportedly fly longer, farther, quieter, and stronger. Here’s what you need to know about SiFly drones.

Not only is DJI killing it with some of the best and most affordable drones for aerial photography and cinematography, but the company is also dominating news cycles with its never-ending battles against potential bans, and now tariffs pose another significant threat.
While we always support strong market competition for all types of film and video products and gear, it’s nice to see that DJI is getting some non-regulatory competition as well. SiFly, a new Silicon Valley drone startup based in Santa Clara, is here to challenge DJI directly.
Set to offer drones that can reportedly fly longer, farther, quieter, and stronger, SiFly is here to bring some healthy competition to the market that will hopefully drive innovation up and prices down for aerial cinematographers and content creators.
Introducing SiFly Drones
So, here’s the elevator pitch for this Silicon Valley drone startup: SiFly drones are set to deliver unmatched performance with 4x greater flight time and 10x greater range, 10x quieter noise profile, and 5x stronger payload capacity.
These SiFly drones are set to NDAA compliance and made for industrial missions like Drone-as-First Responder (DFR) and Industrial Operations here to start.
SiFly is also set to launch a launch platform, the Q12, that will offer an unprecedented two-hour continuous hover and up to three hours in forward flight, enabling a 90-mile operational range while carrying up to 10 pounds of payload.
The Future of SiFly Drones
As of right now, it sounds like these SiFly drones are not focused on photography or videography just yet. However, with the specs and performance outlined above, it would make sense for the company to pivot into aerial camera technology soon.
The SiFly drones are set to make use of new operational possibilities for Beyond Visual Line-of-Sight (BVLOS) drone missions that were previously out of reach. And if these missions are successful with the company’s Q12 launch platform models set to deliver in Q4 of 2025, we could see more innovation and new products soon after.
