Set to feature six channels ready to charge a full kit of NP-F batteries at the same time, this solution could certainly speed up battery charging and replace the slow process we’re all used to.

Tilta Foldable Charging Station
Designed specifically for L-Series/NP-F batteries (including models like NP-F970, NP-F750, NP-F570, and NP-F550), this Foldable Charging Station from Tilta aims to replace the slow back-and-forth charging with usual chargers, which feature fewer slots.
In its Standard Mode, the Tilta Foldable Charging Station evenly distributes power across all six bays for simultaneous full charging. Users can also switch the station to Fast-Charge Mode, which can prioritize charging the three highest-charged batteries. The company reports that this mode works by charging the prioritized batteries to full before topping off the remaining three.
Now, there are some trade-offs with this mode, though, as it slows down the entire process compared to Standard Mode. With fast charging, the Tilta Foldable Charging Station can fully charge three NP-F970 batteries in approximately 5 hours.

Smart Display and Built-In Protection
What’s cool about this foldable power station is that it’s designed specifically for film and video crews and has a lot of small features to help out. The station features a smart TFT color display that clearly shows the charge level of each battery, with channel labels and a low-battery indicator.
The entire station also uses an active cooling system that manages temperature in real time and a fan to help keep temps down. The station also features built-in protection circuits to further guard against under-voltage, over-voltage, short circuits, and overcharging.
The company reports that the dock is compatible with PD, QC, and other mainstream fast-charging protocols and recommends using a 100W power adapter for full performance.

While it’s always nice to see new products and innovations in film and video production, this foldable charging station isn’t for everyone. You’ll need a crew of the right size and shoots of the right lengths for it to make sense.
