Despite what your back pain might try to tell you, there’s never such a thing as “having too many lenses.” For any seasoned cinematographer or videographer, there’s always a reason to invest in more lenses or to add more to your bag for a project or trip.
It’s also always nice to have too many lens options as well. This new INFINITE Series of affordable full-frame cine lenses from 7Artisans should offer even more options and flexibility for those looking to invest in the right lenses for their projects.
Let’s look at this new 7Artisans INFINITE Series and explore what this seven-lens set potentially has to offer you.
7Artisans INFINITE Series
Designed to be an affordable full-frame cine lens series, the 7Artisans INFINITE lenses offer a nice blend of high-quality glass and versatile design, making them ideal options for commercial, corporate, and narrative projects.
The 7Artisans INFINITE Series is set to include seven lenses, ranging from 16mm to 135mm, with all options maintaining an aperture range of T2.1 to T2.5. They should all be able to support solid shallow depth of field and provide some quality low-light flexibility.
The lenses will feature nice edge-to-edge sharpness and are all designed to meet the acquisition standards for 4K and 6K video recording.
Price and Availability
Let’s look at the lenses as individual options, which is how they’re listed on B&H right now. For example, the INFINTE 16mm T2.5 Cine Lens from 7artisans is set to come either in Canon EF-mount or ARRI PL-mount options and will feature an aperture range of T2.5 to T22 and a lens construction of 16 elements in 11 groups with 10 iris blades create a smooth bokeh that can perform in a wide range of lighting environments.
This 16mm T2.5 Cine Lens, in particular, has a wide 106.8° FOV, an 86mm filter thread, and a 90mm front outside diameter, allowing you to incorporate compatible lens accessories. Multiple layers of a nano-reflective coating reduce glare in your imagery. A minimum focus distance of 9.8" allows for close focus distances.
