The latest Blackmagic Camera update (10.0) is here, and it’s set to add some nice improvements and bug fixes for these cameras. The real news here is that pre-recording for up to 10 minutes on these Blackmagic cameras is a new feature that can be a pretty awesome add-on.

Also, of note, support for 4-channel audio recording is coming to these cameras as well. Exciting stuff that I’m sure you’d like to learn more about, so let’s dive in.

Blackmagic Camera 10.0 Update

Looking specifically at pre-recording here first, it’s a pretty game-changing feature that is set to bring up to 10 minutes of pre-recording to these Blackmagic cameras. The focus is on broadcast needs, but it’s also a nice option for filmmakers and documentarians looking for more options for how they shoot and cover.

Support for 4-channel audio recording and support for mono headphone monitoring are two other new audio-side features that are being added to the cameras as well.
