While Insta360 may be signaling that the gimbal camera market is set to be one of the biggest showdowns in the content creator space with its new Luna Ultra, rivaling the best its competition has to offer (we’re looking at you, DJI), the company isn’t done quite yet.

Announced this morning, the Insta360 Luna Ultra is an AI-powered gimbal camera that, out of the box, can capture up to 8K30 video with some cinematically minded Leica-engineered optics. The new gimbal camera from Insta360 features two lenses, one with a 1" CMOS image sensor and one with a 1/1.3" CMOS sensor, and a ton of AI-powered features that should help it excel with subject tracking and low-light performance.
It also notably features a 2" OLED touchscreen that can actually detach to function as a wireless remote for control over distance. And, along with the 8K30 Dolby Vision video, it will also capture 4K120 slow motion, 4K60 PureVideo, and reach telephoto levels up to 12x zoom and 6x lossless zoom for crisp close-ups.
