The SmallRig Camera Cage for the Sony FX2
Designed to house and protect your Sony FX2 and expand its mounting options to create a handheld rig that works for your production, this new SmallRig Camera Cage for the Sony FX2 will feature a detachable top plate with a NATO rail to attach the Sony XLR top handle or other top handle options without interfering with the EVF.
Additional mounting points on the cage include another NATO rail, multiple 1/4"-20 and 3/6"-16 threads, a cold shoe mount, and a QD socket to accommodate a wide variety of accessories. A built-in Arca-type quick release plate allows for efficient transitions between handheld and gimbal or tripod shooting configurations. An included HDMI cable clamp keeps your connections secure.
Multiple Mounting Points
The rig will also include a detachable top plate featuring a NATO rail, accommodating Sony’s XLR top handle or SmallRig’s rotating top handle without interfering with the EVF.
The cage will further incorporate multiple mounting points, including 1/4"-20 threaded holes, 3/8"-16 ARRI locating holes, and a “HawkLock” NATO rail for quick attachment of accessories like side handles and top handles.
A cold shoe mount allows for attaching devices like the DJI Mic 2 or LED lights, while a QD socket at the base accommodates shoulder straps for enhanced portability, and the base is also equipped with a magnetic Allen wrench, facilitating quick assembly and disassembly
