The DJI drone ban saga finds another victim as the Chinese-based company has officially launched its new Osmo 360 II action camera… for everyone outside the US.
And this is nothing new, as that's been the case with most of the latest drones, gimbals, and other gear DJI has released over the past year. Still, this one might hurt a bit for action and adventure videographers, especially in light of the news of DJI being sold or merging, which casts some doubt on its future, too.
If you live outside the US, or are open to other ways to get one, here’s what you need to know about the DJI Osmo 360 II.

A follow-up to the previous DJI Osmo 360, which—as far as we can tell—is still available to check out on sites like B&H in the US, this new II version adds some nice specs and features and should shine a bit brighter with its user-replaceable lenses and harder coating.
The Osmo 360 II also steps it up with what it calls 14.5 stops of dynamic range, which is pretty impressive for an action cam, plus new features like the AI-powered SuperNight 2.0 low-light mode.
The base specs don’t change much, as the previous model could also capture 8K 360-degree video, although this one can do so at 60fps while the previous model could only hit 50fps. This version will also feature many of the same smart editing and instant-sharing connectivity options, plus it has 105GB of built-in storage.

And that’s it: another new DJI product is out and not currently available in the US. It looks quite appealing, but filmmakers and content creators in the US will have to rely on other action cam options, older models, or look for ways to get one secondhand in the future.
