Rig Up Your Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 for Superior Audio With This New XLR Module
MID49 has unveiled a new XLR module for the popular Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55, which could be a top option for solo shooters and crews looking for the best audio rigs.

Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55
While 2025 was dominated by AI discussions (and fears), there were actually some really great bright spots in the traditional filmmaking world. The Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 was one of those bright spots and one of our top cameras of the year for a reason.
However, as is the case with most high-end cinema camera options, there’s a lot of work to be done to rig out these top options with the right gear for you and your production crew's needs. Today, we’re looking at what might be one of the best options for audio with this new XLR module from MID49.
Here’s everything you need to know about this Direct Connect Fujifilm ETERNA 55 XLR module that interfaces directly with the ETERNA’s handle connector.
Direct Connect Fujifilm ETERNA 55 XLR Module
Designed as a modified TASCAM XLR module that can interface directly with Fujifilm’s popular, new cinema camera, this Direct Connect XLR module from MID49 aims to bring phantom power, balanced audio, and knobs for adjusting audio levels to your Fujifilm GFX ETERNA 55 shooting experience.
With this design, both the TASCAM main module unit and the MID49 mounting bracket and cable assembly are included with this unique solution. The modified module itself will help reduce the overall rig height while also adding a robust metal mounting bracket, which can be configured behind the Rainbow Handle or any third-party handle with an ARRI 3/8-16 on the back.
The rig also features a miniature rosette on the mounting bracket that should further allow its screw to be positioned at various angles, including completely flat for screwing down on top of a cheese plate.
How to Install and Use
If you’re curious about how all of this works, MID49 has released a helpful video showcasing this XLR module option that also goes over how to install and get it up and running.
To follow along with the tutorial above, here are some timestamps to check out:
- 00:00 - Intro
- 00:11 - Original TASCAM Configuration
- 00:30 - Modified Housing
- 00:47 - Adjustable Rosette
- 01:21 - Microphone Shockmount
- 01:47 - Audio Menu Settings
- 02:37 - Physical Buttons and Knobs
At the end of the installation, the Direct Connect Module on the ETERNA 55 will be able to provide two channels of balanced audio with optional phantom power, which should be a vast improvement over what is available with the camera out of the box.
